“For just under 4 years I was the project manager and maintenance manager for Gateway Apartments in Wellington. My role was to maintain the multi-level apartment complex from small painting jobs through to all building maintenance and beyond. Whilst I was employed by Gateway’s, the Board of Directors decided to replace all of the balustrade outside all 64 apartments. In preparation for this work we decided that we would paint the entire front of the building whilst the scaffolding was erected. We arranged meetings with 3 different companies who would be able to undertake and understand how Gateway wanted this contract to run.
After meeting with John Flynn and his team of painters it was clear who we were going to use. John supplied and erected his own scaffolding and worked in with all our apartment owners on a daily basis. His manner and professionalism was second to none. We had a site meeting with him and his team every week. His workmanship was exceptional and the project ran so smoothly. I was constantly receiving outstanding comments from the owners and the Board of Directors.
I have moved on from this role and I am currently working for myself developing new housing in the Wellington area. John and his team are currently undertaking all my work. And I have just finished my own new house in Petone which John painted.
